EXHIBITION DESCRIPTION
A Gallery/Allen+Alan Fine Art is pleased to offer a spark of inspiration with Roland Thompson's solo art exhibition, blip. His custom cut three-dimensional wall art toys with the senses using a pop art sensibility. Combining the vibrant colors of flashing arcades and online gaming, the pieces stimulate us with new patterns and fresh connections. Thompson's work exists at the intersection of painting and sculpture. Shape, line and color operate in tandem to form illusions and create interruptions in space. Play becomes the discipline through an emphasis on rhythmic lines, joyous color and a minimalist intent. Through carefully planned forms and varied painterly techniques, objectivity is animated with visual simulations of movement and sound.
