Artist Statement:

I named this sculpture after a favorite old folk song I listened to as a teen in the 1960s. The song goes through a cycle of flowers, young love, war, death and back to flowers and new hope. Currently, we are experiencing many losses, and all kinds of emotions, including sadness and also hope for better days to come. I see both in this piece.
