American painter Brent Godfrey blends varying degrees of abstraction and representation to explore issues of identity, interpersonal relationships, societal structures and memory. Through the painting process Godfrey translates objects, figures and landscapes into physical metaphors of thought and experience.
Raised in Utah, Godfrey graduated, cum laude, with a bachelor of arts before completing a master’s degree and expanding his painting studies in Italy. He has participated in numerous museum and gallery exhibitions and mounted significant solo shows. His award winning paintings have been published broadly. |
